Programs for Chronic Insomnia
Chronic insomnia can affect every aspect of daily life, from work performance to mental and physical health. Our evidence-based program helps individuals develop mindfulness-based skills and behavioral strategies to improve sleep quality and overall well-being.
About the Program
This program supports patients suffering from chronic insomnia who want to explore ways of managing their sleep using mindfulness-based skills and behavioral therapy
What is Mindfulness Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (MBTI)?
The program involves psychoeducation by two group facilitators (a doctor, and a nurse or counsellor), group discussion, in-session meditation and mindfulness practices, and homework involving meditation, sleep hygiene, and sleep compression. It follows the Mindfulness-Based Therapy for Insomnia protocol by Jason Ong (Ong, J. C. 2017. American Psychological Association) which blends mindfulness and cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia.
