SATA offers free, online, mindfulness-based group programs for people with a life-limiting illness. These therapeutic programs bring patients together in a safe space to reflect and find connection, meaning, acceptance, and peace.
A New Beginning Without End – Parts 1 & 2
A New Beginning Without End is an MSP-funded, evidence-based virtual group program for individuals living with terminal or life-limiting conditions such as metastatic cancer, end-stage organ failure, or ALS.
Grounded in mindfulness therapy, compassion, and community, the program provides a supportive space where participants discover they are not alone in their suffering.

Four-week introductory course focused on:

Supportive group relationship
Part 2
Four-week introductory course focused on:
Grief
Identity
Meaning
Self-compassion
Spiritual connection
Referral Process
Adults (18–85) with a terminal or life-limiting diagnosis
Able to consent and attend sessions
Comfortable communicating in English
Access to device, internet, and email
Resident of British Columbia (no cost to patients)
Referral Process
After referral, the patient will receive a screening call to assess program fit and complete consent if interested.
A nurse and physician assess suitability for group participation.
Referring providers are informed if the patient enrolls and receive an update when the program is completed or withdrawn.
Important Notes
This is not a medical program. Patients continue care with their physicians and specialists.
Participation is voluntary and patients may withdraw at any time.
